Battery deposit
According to §10 of the battery law, anyone who puts starter batteries into circulation is obliged to charge a deposit of €7.50 including VAT if an old battery is not handed in at the same time as a new starter battery is purchased. Please note that supply batteries, for example, do not constitute starter batteries and are therefore exempt from the Battery Act.
How does the deposit refund work?
- Disposal: Dispose of your used battery at a hardware store, automotive parts dealer, recycling center, scrap dealer, garage or any distributor of starter batteries. Have the disposal of the old battery confirmed by a written proof, which contains stamp, date and signature. You can also have this confirmed on our invoice. Please send us this proof by e-mail within 14 days after issuing the disposal receipt. Unfortunately, we cannot refund the deposit after this deadline.
When will the refund be made?
The battery deposit is usually refunded within 14 working days after receipt of the proof of disposal. Please note that the refund will always be made via the payment method selected when placing the order.
